E! News: Forbes Reveals list of 2015 Hip-Hop Cash Kings

Forbes unveiled the annual Hip-Hop Cash Kings List, which features the highest-paid people in the hip-hop industry. Based on the artists’ earnings from June 2014 to June 2015, the research takes into consideration “pretax income from touring, record sales, streaming, publishing, merchandise sales, endorsements and other business ventures,” but does not deduct management, agent and attorney fees.” It uses “data from Nielsen SoundScan, Pollstar, the RIAA and from interviews with managers, lawyers, executives and a handful of the artists themselves.”
To no surprise, the pole position is reserved for Diddy, whose ventures Ciroc, TV network Revolt, clothing line Sean John and alkaline water brand Aquahydrate brought him a total of $60 million. The runner-up is Jay Z, who acquired $56 million through Roc Nation and Armand de Brignac champagne, along with 22 lucrative shows with wife BeyoncĂ©. Third comes Drake with $39.5 million, which is the best Cash Kings finish of his career. He has to thank his endorsements with Sprite and Nike, his surprise album If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, and the 50 tour dates during the scouring period.
